Angst-y, youthful soul perhaps, but still. It broke so much new ground and it was packed with soul. LP was my favorite band around 2000-2005. I'm guessing that they felt the genre was becoming a joke and decided to strip their music from the embarrassing content and make it I remember being so excited for this album. Sadly the sound left as quick as it came.
I remember being so excited for this album.
I know that I am doing injustice to a good band which has tried reinventing itself and its really sad because they are all such talents in their individual roles, but despite all this the album just seems to fall short in every possible way compared to their older ones. There is nothing left making me dance, the hard beats are mostly gone, replaced by pop-ish sounds which sound like they were made to please the biggest possible amount of people. Some of the songs are ok, they are radio-friendly enough for sure, but somehow the magic is gone. Some of the songs are ok, they are radio-friendly enough for Linkin Park was my favourite band, the first of which I ever owned an album of.I remember my family laughing at me because I stood under the shower, shouting with Chester during songs like With You or Papercut, there were feelings in their songs that just wanted you to move and join in singing. What I've Done is mediocre even if it did become popular thanks to Transformers. Shadow Of The Day is probably the only worthwhile song on this track to listen to, so if you are a Linkin Park fan do yourself a favor and Leave Out All The Rest. It's sounds like the studio wanted them to rush out another album and Linkin Park decided to take their anger and Bleed It Out onto the songs giving no care as to how that will turn out. The sound is stuck In Between annoying screaming and dull emo. To start with the lyrics are so depressing it's boarder line comical, but I've hated the songs on this album before analyzing the lyrics. This album is terrible for a variety of reason and could quite possibly be their worst. So this begs the question at what point in time has the mighty Linkin Park fallen, well the answer has finally come clear to me now. It's not they they constantly produce terrible music it's the fact they have music has kinda altered to a point that makes me wish the band would Wake up and realize their newer sound isn't working. May 15, To be honest I've kinda Given Up on Linkin Park. To be honest I've kinda Given Up on Linkin Park. I wouldn't necessarily say pass on the album as some of the songs are very good, but definitely consider getting the "good" songs off of iTunes or something and skip over the filler. In Between is a dull monotone song with Shinda on vocals, Valentines Day is the most emo "kill yourself to" song I've ever heard, and Shadow of the Day sounds like the band is trying to appeal to high school teenage girls. Other than the aforementioned songs the album is practically all filler. The same cannot however be said for the rest of the album. Although a bit on the radio friendly side, Minutes offers up some very great additions to Linkin Park's catalogue such as What I've Done, Given Up, Bleed It Out, No More Sorrow, and Hands Held High. While this is not as good as Hybrid Theory, Meteora, or Living Things, it is CERTAINLY better than the album it precedes A Thousand Suns. The same cannot however be said A very mixed bag.
